Astronomy helps us learn about phenomena beyond earth, and even our own galaxy. But there is an important lesson about us as people to be learned by gazing out into space. Through astronomy, we can learn the power that glimpses of wonder have in transforming our frame of mind and help us think beyond our limited points of view.
Todd Duncan has been teaching science concepts to a wide range of audiences for more than 20 years. His emphasis is on glimpses of wonder that help us broaden our perspective and see beyond our limited point of view. Todd holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the University of Chicago, and Physics degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Illinois. He is currently on the Physics faculty at Pacific University, adjunct faculty at Portland Community College and director of the non-profit Science Integration Institute.
